Zander’s arrival electrified the hotel atmosphere. Reporters swarmed in, all eager to interview the household–name a–lister.
“Sorry, I’m just here to meet a friend. No interviews,” Zander said curtly.
As an a–lister, Zander was naturally surrounded by bodyguards.
Several burly bodyguards in black sunglasses swiftly stepped forward, forming a barrier between him and the reporters.
Zander kept his gentle eyes on Sylvia, his gaze never wavering from her.
Sylvia checked the time and stood up from her chair. It was already lunchtime. She had previously arranged to have lunch with Angel and Zander.
“Zander, let’s go get something to eat,” Sylvia said with a faint smile.
Every gaze snapped to Sylvia’s face.
Now everyone understood. Zander was here for her.
‘Isn’t she just an employee working for Dillan? How on earth does she have this kind of clout?‘ they thought.
Zander entered without so much as glancing at Dillan.
He strode straight to Sylvia and casually picked up the shoulder bag she’d left on the chair.
The hotel staff were buzzing with excitement, their eyes gleaming as they whispered among themselves.
“Is Zander really carrying a bag for a woman? What’s their relationship?” someone murmured.
“Rumors swirled that Zander has a daughter, but no one ever knows who the mother is. Can this woman be Mrs. Gage?” someone chimed in.
A wave of shock rippled through the crowd.
Standing on the stage, Dillan darkened his expression. Seeing Sylvia with Zander irritated him. ‘She’s being so thoughtless. Doesn’t she know how to maintain proper boundaries with Zander? Isn’t she afraid of making me angry?‘ Dillan thought.
But with Zander’s imposing bodyguards nearby, he didn’t dare say a word.
Joanna stood nearby, frowning in displeasure, and couldn’t help but call out impatiently, “Mr. Gage, come over here, please.”
She was convinced that Dillan was actually Master Cameron, the investor, and that Zander had come specifically to see him. Running into Sylvia was nothing more than a coincidence.
Zander cast a cold glance in Joanna’s direction, his face remaining impassive, making it clear he had no intention of talking to her.
The reporters exchanged bewildered glances.
They thought, ‘Zander is totally snubbing Joanna. And with Mr. Cameron right beside her, doesn’t that mean he’s disrespecting the investor too?”
Sylvia said with a slight smile, “Zander, since Joanna wants you over there, why don’t you go? With all these reporters here, it’s the perfect chance to share updates about our new movie.”
All eyes turned to Zander. He’d just ignored Joanna completely. Would he actually listen to this woman?
“Sure thing,” Zander readily agreed.
The crowd was stunned once more, their gazes toward Sylvia now filled with bewilderment.

‘Zander, the legendary a–lister, actually obeys her every word?‘ they thought in disbelief.
Zander stepped onto the stage and took the microphone with ease. “Ladies and gentlemen, since I’ve run into you all here, let me take this chance to talk about my upcoming film project.”
He then briefed the reporters on the film’s progress, and all eyes were riveted on him.
Joanna was on pins and needles. The moment Zander finished speaking, she blurted out, “Mr. Gage, why didn’t you even say hello to Master Cameron? He’s the investor in your movie.”
“Master Cameron? Who exactly is Master Cameron?” Zander looked up coldly, feigning ignorance.
Joanna pointed at Dillan standing beside her, her voice laced with confusion, and asked, “Mr. Gage, this is Master Cameron! What exactly did you mean by that?”
Just as Zander was about to expose Dillan’s true identity, Sylvia called out from nearby, “Zander, let’s go.”
‘It’s still not the right time to expose Dillan. We’ll make our move when Joanna is financially entangled with him,’ thought Sylvia.
All the reporters were waiting expectantly for Zander, but the moment Sylvia called out, he strode toward her without hesitation.
The crowd was stunned. ‘Who on earth is that woman? How come Zander obeys her every word like that?‘ they wondered.
Zander picked up Sylvia’s shoulder bag, and the two walked out of the hotel side by side.
“Dillan… they’ve left,” Joanna said hesitantly.
Dillan’s eyes flashed angrily as he suddenly snapped, “Let them go! One is just my servant, and the other is the a–lister I worked so hard to groom. If they’re not afraid of making fools of themselves by being together, why the hell should I be?”
The reporters caught Dillan’s words, and their minds immediately started racing.
‘So that’s why Zander ignored Dillan!‘ they thought excitedly.
Everything suddenly made sense. ‘Sylvia must be Mrs. Gage’s wife. But she’s just a lowly servant. No wonder Zander never went public about their
relationship,‘ they thought.
Joanna’s face first registered shock and then twisted into a mocking smile. She sneered in her heart, ‘So Sylvia isn’t some big shot after all. She’s just a
servant.
‘All these years, she’s just been riding on Dillan’s coattails!‘
Sylvia was now at the restaurant. Angel and Zander sat on either side of her, and the trio ordered a generous spread of dishes.
“Have some more, Sylvia,” Zander said warmly, picking out a few large prawns and placing them on her plate.
Angel glanced over and quickly added some greens to Sylvia’s plate. “Eat more veggies, Sylvia. They’re good for you.”
Sylvia nodded, finishing the prawns Zander had peeled for her and then polished off the greens Angel had put in her bowl.
Zander and Angel seemed to be vying for Sylvia’s affection, each determined to prove they mattered more to her. In no time, high with food, neither willing to be outdone by the other.
Sylvia looked at her plate piled high with food, a helpless smile on her face. “Guys, can you just let me eat on my own for once?”
Zander and Angel exchanged a glance and then both nodded in agreement.
Zander turned to her with a smile. “Sylvia, after lunch, how about we go out for a bit? Anything you’d like to do?”

Before Zander could finish, Angel jumped in and said, “Sylvia, I heard there’s a brand–new designer boutique nearby. Shall we check it out together?
Now that they’d stopped piling food onto Sylvia’s plate, the two started scheming about who would get to spend time with her after the meal.
But Sylvia’s next words shut them both up. “Did you two forget about filming this afternoon?”
Zander shrugged elegantly. “Alright, let’s take a rain check then.”
Angel followed with a wry smile. “Guess we’ll have to put our plans on hold for now.”
After lunch, Angel and Zander headed out together.
At that moment, Sylvia called Dillan.
She hadn’t exposed Dillan as Master Cameron yet. Now was the perfect time to collect some interest from him. It was time for him to pay 1.6 million dollars for the renovation.
