Chapter 126
Sylvia and Dillan had just arrived at the business registration office. Before they even had a chance to start the paperwork for their company’s business license, they spotted Byron not far away.
Her heart skipped a beat. Quickly pointing to another counter, Sylvia whispered to Dillan, “Let’s go over there.”
‘If Byron sees me with Dillan, that arrogant guy is just going to start overthinking things again,‘ Sylvia thought with a sigh.
Unfortunately, Byron had already spotted them. As Sylvia and Dillan turned toward another counter, Byron’s towering figure blocked their path. His piercing, icy eyes glinted with displeasure, the kind that could freeze you where you stood.
Byron sneered, his lips twisting into a mocking smirk. “Well, Sylvia, aren’t you the busy social butterfly, always surrounded by a revolving door of men.”
First it’s a–lister Zander Gage, then it’s trust fund baby Hayden Stone…
At least those two are acceptable. They’re both from his circle, his friends, and have decent family backgrounds and character.
Byron Blair scoffed inwardly, ‘But this guy, Dillan right here? Who does he think he is?‘
Dillan’s heart clenched when he saw Byron, but he quickly steadied himself. ‘I’m just as good as him now,‘ he thought defiantly. ‘I’ve got fame and fortune too.’
Dillan demanded, “Byron, get out of my way. Now.”
Byron’s smirk grew even more derisive, his fathomless eyes brimming with utter disdain.
Byron scoffed inwardly, ‘Who does this nobody think he is to mouth off in front of me? He must have a death wish.‘
With just a slight lift of his hand, two suited bodyguards immediately rushed forward, their eyes radiating cold–blooded menace, as if ready to tear Dillan
limb from limb.
Byron snarled, “Beat him within an inch of his life and toss him out!”
Dillan paled in alarm and shouted at Byron, “Byron, don’t get so full of yourself! I’m here to apply for a business license. You have no right to stop me!”
Byron sneered, “As chairman of the Silverton Chamber of Commerce, do you really think I don’t have the authority to stop you?”
Seeing the two bodyguards about to lay into Dillan, Sylvia quickly stepped forward and whispered urgently to Byron, “Byron, don’t cross the line.”
Byron’s temple twitched, fury flashing in his eyes. He snapped at Sylvia, “Really, Sylvia? You’ve really got some nerve. Arguing with me over some other
man now?”
Sylvia hesitated briefly, knowing this wasn’t the place for explanations. She stepped forward, grabbed Byron by the arm, and quickly pulled him into a
nearby hallway.
“Byron, can’t you be the bigger man? Why do you always single out Dillan like this? Call off your men and stop giving him a hard time.”
‘Be the bigger man? Me?‘ Byron scoffed inwardly.
A predatory glint flashed in Byron’s eyes. “If I’d been the bigger man, Sylvia and he would’ve been together long ago.”
The more Byron thought about it, the angrier he grew until a vicious idea took hold of him.
“Break Dillan’s legs!” Byron Blair thought viciously.
Byron had made his decision, his face dark with ruthless determination. Just as he was about to turn and issue the order, Sylvia swiftly stepped forward, and gently cupped his cheek in her soft palm.

“Listen, Byron: Someone like Dillan isn’t worth getting angry over. What I’m doing now is actually to set him up. Please, trust me.”
Byron shuddered at the warmth of Sylvia’s palm against his cheek, the sensation sending a tremor through his body.
His deep eyes locked onto Sylvia, his gaze growing softer with every passing second as his heartbeat quickened.
“Fine, I’ll listen to you,” Byron conceded against his better judgment, nodding as he pulled out his phone and tapped a few commands.
At Byron’s silent command, the bodyguards who had been eyeing Dillan menacingly immediately dispersed.
Sylvia paused for a moment, then explained to Byron, “I’m here with Dillan to get a business license for my company. This is purely about my business. He’s not involved at all, so please don’t get in the way.”
She knew she had to make things clear to Byron. After all, with the immense power he held in Silverton, just a word from him could not only block their business license. And even if they got it, the company could still be shut down.
Byron’s tone was icy, his eyes flashing with cold impatience. “Since it’s your company applying for the business license, what’s he doing here?”
Sylvia gave a wry smile. “I didn’t want to bring him along, but he insisted on tagging along. What could I do?”
Byron Blair’s expression turned icy in an instant, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. “You’re being awfully nice to him,” he sneered.
A wave of discomfort surged in his chest. He tried to get close to Sylvia, but she kept pushing him away. Meanwhile, Dillan clung to her like a pathetic lapdog.
Byron Blair scoffed inwardly, ‘Getting rid of this lapdog? It’s a breeze!’
A flash of ruthlessness flickered in his eyes as he clenched the phone, poised to give the order. Suddenly, a small, soft hand once again gently traced the
sharp contours of his jawline.
Sylvia said to Byron, “Byron, must you always be so reckless?”
Sylvia sighed inwardly. ‘If Byron beats up Dillan right in front of me, how am I supposed to explain this to him?
‘Dillan might even think I’ve been in cahoots with Byron all along. Then my whole scheme will go down the drain.‘
“Not this again!” Byron snapped in frustration, roughly shaking off Sylvia’s hand with a disdainful snort. “Do whatever you want. I’m done with this!”
Without another word, he shoved his phone back into his pocket, his face cold and unreadable, then turned on his heel and strode off.
Sylvia let out a silent sigh of relief. Without Byron getting in the way, obtaining the business license was indeed a breeze.
After a little over half an hour, Sylvia finally had the business license in hand. Their company was officially registered as Cerulean Entertainment.
Dillan frowned at the business license. “Sylvia,” he demanded, “you made me chairman, so why are you listed as both the owner and legal representative? Why isn’t my name there?”
‘He really thinks he’s something,‘ Sylvia thought. But outwardly, she smiled and explained, “Dillan, being the chairman is enough. The owner and legal rep have way more responsibilities. I’m just trying to make things easier for you.”
Dillan vaguely remembered hearing that if the company got into trouble, the legal representative would be the first to take the fall.
‘After all, I’ve already got Sylvia tightly wrapped around my finger. Being a chairman who calls the shots isn’t bad at all, he thought smugly.
“Sylvia, is everything set with the Skyline Convention Center? Tomorrow I’m meeting with an elite Hollywood team. I’m signing them all, and there’ll be major media coverage.”
“The Skyline Convention Center is a Blair Group property,” Sylvia replied with a reassuring smile, having already arranged everything with Byron. “Don’t worry, everything’s set. You can go ahead with the meeting tomorrow.”

Dillan grew even more smug hearing her words. ‘Tomorrow, I’m meeting producers and screenwriters, is an a–lister in the industry‘

Little did he know that all these so–called Hollywood elites were actually employees of Sylvia’s overseas company. They had come to Silverton for one purpose only, to serve Sylvia, and her alone.
As Dillan left the business registration office and was about to get in his car, he shot Sylvia a stern look and said, “Sylvia, you’d better stay away from Byron. I’m not happy about this. So what if he’s from a rich family? Big deal.”
Sylvia muttered a couple of perfunctory replies, then slipped into her car and drove away.
He’s completely out of his depth. Byron isn’t exactly a saint, but he’s still a Forbes top–ten billionaire and the notorious ‘Tyrant‘ of Silverton.
‘How could Dillan even compare to Byron?‘ she scoffed to herself.
Dillan followed onto the highway, but as he neared the next intersection, seven or eight cars suddenly burst out from the side, trapping him dead center
in the road.
A squad of burly bodyguards in shades swiftly emerged from the cars, forming a disciplined line beside them with cold, menacing stares.
The door of a black Lincoln swung open, and Byron emerged. His towering frame exuded an innate aristocratic bearing.
Without a hint of emotion, he curled his lips into a chilling smirk, his eyes glinting with a predatory glint, as if Dillan were but an insignificant insect beneath his notice.
Unlike the others, Byron wasn’t about to humor Dillan for Sylvia’s sake.

He didn’t care whether Dillan was Master Cameron. Even if he were God Almighty, it wouldn’t have worked here.
Byron barked coldly, “Take him down!”
At Byron’s icy command, a dozen or so black–suited bodyguards instantly swarmed toward Dillan…
