“You’ve got it all wrong,” Dillan shouted desperately. “I’m the boss here.”
Despite Dillan’s urgent shouts, international superstars like Anna paid him no heed. Recognizing only Sylvia as their boss, they resolutely followed her straight to the company entrance.
As the automatic doors slid open, Dillan’s mother, Fiona Sheppard, charged forward furiously and blocked Sylvia’s path. She spat, “Have you no shame? Dillan owns this company. How dare you walk off with his employees?”
Sylvia sneered, “Who told you Dillan is the company’s boss? Is he even listed as the legal representative in the registration documents?”
With that, Sylvia produced a document from her bag and held it up for all to see. “Here are the company’s registration documents, proof that I’m both the legal representative and the sole owner.”
Fiona froze for a moment, then instinctively turned to Dillan for confirmation.
Dillan’s face twisted in shock before he stormed over, teeth clenched. “Sylvia, even if I’m not the legal representative, given our relationship, do you really have to be so technical? Isn’t your company basically mine too?”
Joanna, who’d been waiting to see Sylvia humiliated, gaped in shock at those words. Her mind was in complete turmoil. ‘Wait? The company doesn’t even belong to Dillan?‘ she wondered.
“Dillan, if the company isn’t even yours, why did you pour so much money into it?” Joanna blurted out.
Dillan’s face flushed bright red as he stammered, “Joanna, it’s fine, really. Whether the company’s Sylvia’s or mine, it’s basically the same thing.”
“Are you sure?” Sylvia sneered. “It’s clearly written. This company is mine, and you have absolutely nothing to do with it. I never asked you to invest. You insisted on doing it.”
Dillan’s face darkened instantly as he stared at Sylvia in disbelief, unable to comprehend why she would suddenly turn against him.
Joanna stood trembling all over, her mind spinning wildly. ‘All the money Dillan invested in Sylvia is from me and Dad. Now that Sylvia’s going back on her word, aren’t we just getting scammed?‘ she thought.
“Sylvia, you can’t do this,” Dillan pleaded anxiously. “I sold my company, and I’m drowning in debt just to support you. You can’t just leave me behind like this, right?”
“Did we ever sign a contract? Do you have anything in writing?” Sylvia fired back.
“What about all the goddamn money I gave you?” Dillan exploded, his face contorted with rage.
“That was your gift, given freely,” Sylvia shot back icily.
Dillan and Joanna were beside themselves with rage, only now realizing that Sylvia had set them up, and they’d walked right into it like tools.
Fiona, her face turning ashen with rage as she finally grasped the whole situation, suddenly raised her hand and slapped Sylvia hard across the face. “Bitch, how dare you con my son? Give back every penny you took from him, now.”
Sylvia deftly dodged and retaliated with a swift backhand slap. The force of the slap sent Fiona staggering backward, struggling to keep her balance.
Sylvia snapped contemptuously, “How dare the likes of you, always making a scene, judge me?”
‘Everything Dillan ever had came from me,‘ she thought coldly. ‘Now I’m taking it all back with interest.
‘Also, Joanna owes me far more than this. This is nowhere near enough payback. She ruined my family and my marriage. I still have a score to settle with
her.‘

Dillan quickly steadied Fiona and roared, “Sylvia, you’ve crossed the line. That’s my mother. If you’re mad, take it out on me. I know you’re upset about me being with Joanna and want revenge.
“I’m giving you one chance, Apologize to my mother right now, or there’s no going back for us.”
Sylvia cast an icy glance at Dillan. “Where do you get off saying something like that? You actually think I’d be interested in you? Don’t flatter yourself.
She ignored Dillan completely, brushed right past him, and headed straight for the door.
Dillan tried to rush after Sylvia to confront her, but the international superstars behind her quickly blocked his path, stopping him in his tracks.
Especially George, the burly man, grabbed Dillan by the collar and glared down at him. He warned, “Don’t waste Ms. Sullivan’s time, or you’ll regret it.
“Ms. Sullivan has gone above and beyond for you, and you stab her in the back. Have you no shame?”
Dillan was instantly silenced, his face turning pale as a sheet with fear.
Sylvia swept into the Grand Oak Hotel, flanked by a group of international superstars.
As soon as Sylvia entered the hotel, she sensed something was off. The lobby was packed with journalists, a stage had been set up at the front, and Joanna’s father, Martin, was standing on it.
This was supposed to be the signing ceremony Dillan had arranged, where Martin was waiting for Dillan and the superstars to arrive.
Upon seeing the international superstars arrive, Martin immediately grabbed the microphone and, brimming with excitement, announced to the reporters, “Ladies and gentlemen, our distinguished international superstars have arrived. Let’s give them a rousing welcome.”
He stepped off the stage and eagerly led the reporters to crowd around Anna and the other superstars.
Martin finally noticed Sylvia, his face darkened. “What are you doing here? Today is the signing ceremony between the superstars and Dillan. Why are you butting in?”
Before Sylvia could respond, the reporters were already clamoring for answers, one shouting, “Ms. Bell, could you share your thoughts on working with Master Cameron?”
“Mr. Miller, what are your future plans for collaborating with Master Cameron?”
It was common knowledge that Dillan was the legendary Master Cameron, and all the contracts they signed were with him.
Pointing to the stage, Sylvia said coolly, “Since they are all so curious, you guys go to the stage and talk it out.”
The superstars obediently filed onto the stage, each stepping up to the microphone to deliver their signing ceremony remarks.
With a playful smile, Anna said, “It’s truly an honor for us to work with Master Cameron.”
John chimed in heartily, “Master Cameron is my idol. Working with Master Cameron is my greatest pleasure.”
Listening to the superstars heap praise on Master Cameron, Martin kept glancing anxiously at his watch, muttering under his breath, “Why isn’t Dillan here yet? Everyone’s praising him.”
Martin urged Sylvia impatiently, “Hurry up and call Dillan. Tell him to get over here right now.”
Ignoring him, Sylvia strode purposefully toward the stage.
Martin demanded sharply, frowning, “What are you going up on stage for?”
Before his words could fade, the international superstars on stage bowed deeply to Sylvia in unison and respectfully said, “Really glad to be working with you, Ms. Sullivan.”

Martin froze in disbelief, while every reporter below the stage stared in stunned silence.
“Ms. Bell, why did you bow to her? Isn’t Master Cameron your boss?” the reporters asked.
In front of everyone, Anna smited and replied, “She is Master Cameron, and the finest boss we could ask for.”
