Chapter 152
Sylvia sent Byron and Joanna away, choosing to attend Zack’s parent–teacher conference alone.
Although Zack excelled academically, his cold personality kept him distant from his classmates, who saw him as a block of ice.
“Ms. Sullivan, I’ve noticed Zack has really changed lately. He’s been smiling more often and is much more sociable with his classmates. The homeroom teacher approached Sylvia and shared Zack’s recent changes.
Sylvia nodded, turned to Zack sitting beside her, and said gently, “Zack, try to spend more time with your classmates. You’re all part of the same class community, so it’s important to fit in and connect with everyone.”
Ever since Sylvia returned, Zack had become noticeably more cheerful. He no longer sought the warmth of family in parenting simulation games.
Because not only did his mom come back, but there was also a lovely little sister, so the originally plain life was filled with love.
“Okay, Mom, I’ll listen to you,” Zack said, his face lighting up with a bright smile as he nodded enthusiastically.
During this time, Zack had been consistently taking the herbal medicine Sylvia brewed for him. His vision improved significantly, and he didn’t need to wear his glasses anymore.
At his young age, with his delicate features and dressed in a vest
and crisp white shirt, he looked every bit the young gentleman.
Sylvia asked after some thought, “Madam, could Zack take on a role in class leadership?”
The homeroom teacher responded right away, “Of course. The only question is whether Zack would be willing.”
She had previously suggested Zack serve as class representative several times, but he always declined.
Zack’s academic performance was outstanding, surpassing even his teachers in certain subjects.
After all, as the heir of the prestigious Blair family, Zack’s private tutors were all PhDs or master’s degree holders.
“Madam, I’ll do whatever my mom says,” Zack said with a bright smile.
The homeroom teacher beamed, “Then I’ll make you class monitor, okay?”
“Sure,” Zack agreed readily. Whatever his mom asked, he would do his best to fulfill.
“Zack,” Sylvia said gently, “as class monitor, I hope you’ll help your classmates improve together and do your best to support them.”
Sylvia worried about Zack’s introverted personality and hoped that taking on this role would help him integrate into the group and experience both giving and receiving love.
“Okay, Mom, I’ll listen to you,” Zack said, nodding obediently.
The homeroom teacher beamed with joy, thinking Zack would simply help with class duties. Little did she know that in the near future, he would lead the entire class to top scores in the state and guide several classmates to the Elyabic finals.
After the parent–teacher conference, Sylvia hurried out of the school. She needed to drive Casey home.
Casey, with her leg in a cast from the fracture, had been waiting in Sylvia’s car the whole time.
“Mrs. Colon, I’ll get you some herbal medicine to help you recover faster.” On the way, Sylvia stopped at a pharmacy to fill a week’s prescription of herbal
medicine for Casey.
She then drove Casey back to her village on the rural outskirts.

Chapter 152
Unbeknownst to Sylvia, a motorcycle had been quietly tailing her car the entire way. The rider was Casey’s son, Freddy, the same young man who had previously tried to run Sylvia over.
He’d originally planned to do it again today, but as he saw how gently Sylvia cared for his mother, his hardened heart unexpectedly began to soften
Sylvia’s car bumped along the rough road, following Casey’s directions until it finally pulled up in front of her house,
It was a run–down brick bungalow, its walls mottled and weathered by time.
To her surprise, several men in suits t

reed the man leading them.
Bewildered, Sylvia carefully assisted Casey
of the back seat, supporting the injured woman.
“Mrs. Colon, you’ve kept us waiting long enough. What happened? Did you suddenly go lame?” The man in the lead, stocky and in his thirties, wore gold- rimmed glasses that gave him a refined look as he looked Casey up and down with open disdain.
“Tamid, what are you doing here?” Casey stammered, her voice shaking with fear.
Tamid Colon’s eyes were icy as he replied, his stone laced with threat, “I’m here for my father’s will. He’s been bedridden for years, and the doctors just
issued another critical notice. Hand it over now.”
Sylvia frowned, trying to recall Tamid. He used to be the heir of the once–prominent Colon family in Silverton.
The Colon family had been one of the city’s leading families, but after Wade Colon fell seriously ill, their business quickly declined, and the family gradually lost its standing.
Sylvia never would have guessed Casey was Tamid’s father’s first wife, the original matriarch of the Colon family.
Sylvia heard rumors that Tamid’s mother was the mistress who usurped the original wife’s position, and from their conversation just now, it was clearly
true.
From Tamid’s words, that meant Casey was the patriarch’s original spouse.
Even though the Colon family had fallen on hard times, the Colon family still held more influence than most. Sylvia just didn’t expect Casey to be living in such miserable conditions.
“I’ve already told you. I don’t know anything about the will. Please stop coming here.” Leaning heavily on her cane, Casey struggled to the door and unlocked it.
Sylvia quickly stepped forward, gently supporting Casey as she helped her into the yard.
Just as Sylvia was about to close the door, Tamid barged in with his
men.
“Mrs. Colon, we’re not leaving until you hand over that will today,” Tamid said, his tone full of contempt.
He followed Casey inside, found a chair, sat down, and crossed his legs with obvious disdain.
His urgency came from the fact that his father’s days were numbered, and rumor had it that the will left most of the estate to Casey and her son.
Tamid had to find that will and destroy it at all costs.
Right at this moment, a figure stood in the shadows outside the window, coldly watching everything happening inside.
It was Freddy who had followed Sylvia all the way back.
Though Freddy was the Colon family’s child, his hatred for the Colon family ran so deep that he even changed his surname.
Chapter 152
Wade had been blessed with a son late in life, and on Freddy’s eighteenth birthday, he planned to announce him as the family heir.
But just then, Wade’s mistress arrived at the Colon residence with several children in tow, forcing him to acknowledge them.
Only then did Casey discover his infidelity. Humiliated and heartbroken, she left the Colon family for good, taking Freddy with her.
At this moment, Freddy’s fists clenched white–knuckled, his icy stare piercing through the glass at everyone inside, eyes blazing with a murderous gare
Outnumbered or not, he’d be damned before letting anyone lay a finger on his mother.
Just as he was about to strike, Sylvia’s icy voice cut through the room, “Tamid, isn’t it? I recall you working in some department at the Blair Group. Leave now, or should I have your superiors come leash their rabid dog?”
