Chapter 154
Chapter 154
Just as Tamid was about to lay hands on Sylvia, Byron strode purposefully into the inner room.
At the sight of Tamid, Byron’s handsome features instantly darkened with terrifying intensity.
Sure enough, Sylvia was right. It was Tamid from the Blair Group’s business department causing trouble here.
Tamid was shaking all over, completely caught off guard. He never imagined Byron would show up in person.
He looked at Sylvia in terror. ‘Could she really

Byron’s expression grew increasingly

Without warning, Byron lashed out with a vicious kick, sending Tamid sprawling to the ground. His eyes burned with bloodthirsty rage. “Tamid, you disgraceful wretch, get out of my company, effective immediately.”
Terror fitted Tamid’s eyes. The Colon family’s business was now hanging by a thread. It couldn’t even support the entire household anymore.
Tamid thought desperately, ‘I fought tooth and nail to get into the Blair Group–the pay here is way above industry standard. And now I’m actually getting kicked out?‘
“Please, Mr. Blair, you can’t do this to me. I may not have made big achievements, but I’ve worked my heart out for the company.” Tamid clung desperately to Byron’s legs, begging.
Byron commanded, “Take him out.”
As Byron’s words fell, two bodyguards burst in from outside and dragged Tamid, who was sprawled on the ground, out like a dead dog.
“Are you all just going to stand there?” Byron’s icy gaze swept over Tamid’s panicking subordinates in the inner room.
Seeing this, they scattered in panic, scrambling to get away. They all knew Byron’s temper. No one dared cross him. But the moment they rushed into the
courtyard, they knew something was wrong.
Over a dozen black–suited bodyguards stood in perfect formation in the courtyard, exuding an air of deadly menace.
Byron stepped out, stone–faced, and icily commanded, “Take them all away.”
Because of these people, Byron got an earful from Sylvia, and the Blair Group’s reputation took a serious hit. He wouldn’t let these troublemakers off the hook, not by a long shot.
At Byron’s command, the bodyguards swiftly subdued the troublemakers and hauled them all off to the police s
tion in one go.
“Are you okay?” In the inner room, Sylvia glanced at Freddy’s badly beaten face and quickly pulled out some antiseptic swabs from her bag. “Let me clean those wounds. Facial cuts can get infected easily.”
The moment the cotton swab touched Freddy’s face, he winced and sucked in a sharp breath, quickly waving his hand. “I’ll do it myself,” he insisted.
He took the cotton swab and gingerly dabbed at the cuts on his face.
In his early twenties, he still carried a trace of youthful vulnerability on his face. As he looked at Sylvia, his eyes were filled with a complicated mix of
emotions.
He couldn’t believe it. His mother and Sylvia were barely acquaintances, yet Sylvia stepped up and helped us without hesitation.
‘If it weren’t for Sylvia, Tamid and his gang would’ve taken things way too far, Freddy thought.

But Joanna had paid Freddy a hefty sum to have Sylvia harmed. Once this was all over, he’d planned to take his mother and leave this place for good cutting all ties with the Colon family once and for all. But now he just couldn’t bring himself to do it.
Sylvia shouted toward the courtyard, “Byron, just look what your so–called good subordinates have done to him.”
Byron frowned as he stepped inside, his

Byron turned to Sylvia and asked, “What’s your ta
on this?”
Casey struggled to get down from the bed. In a weak voice, She said, “Ms. Sullivan, this has nothing to do with Mr. Blair.” As the former matriarch of the Colon family, Casey immediately recognized the powerful figure standing before her.
Freddy’s eyes darkened with conflicted emotions as he looked at Sylvia. ‘Damn, am I actually feeling guilty now?‘ he thought.
He had been looking for a chance to hurt Sylvia, yet here
was, showing me such genuine concern.
Sylvia frowned and said, “Byron, your people beat them up. Naturally, you have to compensate them.”
“Fine,” Byron agreed without a moment’s hesitation, pulling out his wallet and drawing out a thick wad of cash.
Flustered, Casey quickly waved her hands. “Mr. Blair, I–I can’t possibly accept this,” she stammered.
Without a hint of hesitation, Sylvia grabbed the money and shoved it all into Casey’s pocket. “Mrs. Colon, you have to take what he gave you, but this is far from enough. His men trashed your place. They’ve got to be held accountable.”
Byron’s face darkened. “So, what else do you want?”
“Obviously, you’re going to fix the house,” Sylvia replied coldly.
“Fine,” Byron said through gritted teeth. “I’ll do it.”
Though he agreed, Byron couldn’t shake the bitter feeling gnawing at him. “Why does Sylvia treat everyone else with ten times the kindness she ever shows me?‘ he thought.
Casey looked at Sylvia with heartfelt gratitude, while Freddy kept his head down, lost in thought, clearly wrestling with something inside.
None of them expected the infamous Tyrant to actually obey Sylvia’s words so readily.
Sylvia stole a few furtive glances at Freddy without saying a word. Then she picked up the herbal medicine she’d prepared for Casey and asked gently, “Mrs. Colon, where do you keep your medicine pot? I’ll heat it up for you.”
The moment Freddy walked in, Sylvia recognized him. Freddy was the one who hit her with his motorcycle that day.
Even though Freddy had been wearing a helmet and black athletic gear that day, she still recognized him instantly. His build and those sharp eyes were unmistakable.
Sylvia needed proof that Joanna put Freddy up to hitting her. Joanna would pay for what she had done.
But getting a hired hand to betray his employer was no easy task, so Sylvia decided to win Freddy over first.
Sylvia was heating herbs in the backyard when suddenly she heard a commotion from the front of the house, followed by a man’s boisterous laughter.
“Casey, heard you’ve got some wealthy relatives/visiting. Time to pay up what you owe me, isn’t it?” he said.
Sylvia poured the freshly brewed herbal medicine into a cup and headed back to the front of the house.
Just then, a group of men barged in through the doorway, led by a middle–aged man with a shaved head, a chunky chain around his neck, and an i arrogant sneer on his face.

Supported by Freddy, Casey gingerly made her way to the doorway of the inner room. When she saw who was approaching, she couldn’t help but tank up nervously.

Casey asked nervously, “Mr. Cooper, why are you back again? I thought I already paid off what I owed you last time.”
Shawn Cooper let out a cold sneer. “That was just the principal. You still owe me the interest.”
As he spoke, Shawn swept his predatory gaze over Byron and Sylvia, sizing them up with obvious interest. Just by their outfits, one could tell they were loaded, Byron, in particular.
‘If I’m not mistaken, that’s the latest Rolex on his wrist, worth over 3 million dollars, Shawn thought greedily.
He had no clue about Byron’s true identity, nor the dire consequences of crossing him. At that moment, his mind was completely consumed with how to get his hands on that Rolex.
