Chapter 37
Chapter 37
A week flew by in no time. Early one morning, Sylvia woke up and loaded a box of medical patches into her car.
After breakfast, she held Ruby’s hand and said gently, “Ruby, I have to attend the Pharmaceutical Conference today. Jolie will stay home with you. Bea good girl, okay?”
Ruby nodded sweetly and replied, “Mommy, go ahead! I’ll be good, I promise!”
She then leaned in and gave Sylvia a playful kiss on the cheek.
Feeling reassured, Sylvia drove to the grand hotel hosting the Pharmaceutical Conference, hoping to introduce her medical patches to the market.
Not long after Sylvia left, a car pulled up in front of the small villa. A tiny figure hopped out and eagerly rang the doorbell
“Zack, you’re finally here! I’ve been waiting forever!” Ruby exclaimed as she opened the door, grabbing his hand excitedly.
Zack blinked and peeked into the living room. “Ruby, where’s your mom?” he asked curiously.
“My mom went out for something,” Ruby replied, pulling Zack into the living room without hesitation.
Zack felt a twinge of disappointment. He had come mainly to see Sylvia today.
Inside, Jolie was mopping the floor. She glanced up at Zack and gave him a small nod, already aware that he was Ruby’s close friend.
After he politely greeted Jolie, Zack’s dark eyes darted around the room. He leaned closer to Ruby and whispered, “Ruby, do you know what your mom likes?”
Ruby puffed out her chest confidently. “Of course, I do! Mom loves pretty things, just like me!”
Zack’s face lit up with excitement. “Ruby, let’s go to the mall!”
He really wanted Sylvia to accept him again. She had always been distant, but maybe a thoughtful gift could change that.
Ruby’s eyes sparkled as she ran over to Jolie, tugging on her arm and pleading, “Jolie, can you take Zack and me to the mall? We want to buy something for Mom!”
Jolie hesitated for a moment but nodded when she saw Ruby wasn’t asking to run off aimlessly. She drove the two little ones to a nearby shopping mall.
Zack and Ruby held hands as they walked into the shopping center on the fifth floor, their faces full of excitement.
Zack, tall and slender, looked sharp in his white shirt and blazer, while Ruby, dressed in a pristine white dress and red leather shoes, was as adorable as a
little doll.
The two kids each carried a shopping basket, their adorable appearance instantly drawing smiles and attention from passersby.
“Zack, look! That hair clip is so cute! Mom will totally love it!” Ruby exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she pointed at a cartoon–themed hair clip.
“Buy it!” Zack tiptoed and grabbed the clip before carefully dropping it into the basket.
“Zack, Mom has a girly side sometimes. Look at that pink teddy bear! She’d definitely love it too!” Ruby added.
“Sure thing!” Zack cheerfully picked up the fluffy bear and added it to the basket.
“And that scarf over there looks really nice too!” Ruby chimed in.
Nodding enthusiastically, Zack placed the scarf into the basket as well.

The sight of the two kids so focused on picking gifts drew smilles and whispers from the crowd. They were so adorable that mem muit be? raise such sweet and thoughtful kids!
Before long, their baskets were full. Jolie helped carry them to the checkout counter, but just
card.
“Jolie, I’ve got money. Let me pay for it,” Zack said.
‘These are for Mom. I should pay for them myself, Zack thought, his expression serious.
as she was about to pay, Zack firmly Handed over his
“Ruby, do you know where your mom is? Let’s go find her,” Zack said, tapping his chin thoughtfully.
Ruby replied sweetly, “Zack, I think Mom went to the Pharmaceutical Conference, but I don’t know the address.”
Zack immediately turned to Jolie. “Jolie, do you know where it is?”
Jolie hesitated. Sylvia had specifically asked her to stay home with Ruby today, not to take her to the Pharmaceutical Conference.
Meanwhile, Sylvia had already arrived at the bustling venue of the Pharmaceutical Conference. It was packed with people.
She had reserved a booth in advance, where she displayed her medical patches on the table alongside an advertisement board detailing their benefits and uses.
A few hospital representatives approached her booth, and Sylvia began introducing her product. Just then, a soft, familiar voice interrupted.
“Sylvia, what a coincidence! I didn’t expect to see you here,” Joanna said, walking over with feigned enthusiasm.
Glancing at the interested representatives, Joanna suddenly remarked with a smile, “Sylvia, isn’t this the patch the FDA rejected over and over? I hope you’ve finally fixed all those issues.”
Her words instantly dampened the interest of the representatives, who now seemed wary of the product.
Sylvia’s eyes narrowed. Joanna never missed a chance to stop her medical patches from launching. And now Joanna did it again.
Standing beside Joanna was Hugo Quill, the chairman of the Traditional Medicine Association, a well–known figure in the industry.
Hugo picked up one of Sylvia’s medical patches from the table, glanced at it dismissively, and then addressed the crowd, “Mark my words. This patch is nothing but a quick fix. It’s loaded with hormones and won’t solve anything long–term.”
Hugo had been briefed by Joanna beforehand, and his sole purpose here was to cause trouble for Sylvia.
“Looks like you two are here to stir up trouble again,” Sylvia said coldly, her gaze sharp as she stared them down.
“Sylvia, don’t get me wrong. Mr. Quill is just trying to be helpful. He’s worried that there might be something wrong with your medical patches. If there are any issues, you’ll be in deep trouble!” Joanna pretended to be innocent.
Watching the crowd now avoiding Sylvia’s booth, Joanna couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly.
Sylvia frowned slightly. If these two were determined to target her, it would be nearly impossible to promote her medical patches at this exhibition.
The crowd stirred as a middle–aged man pushed an elderly gentleman with gray hair over in a wheelchair.
“Who here is the Miracle Doctor? Please, save my father!” The man, dressed in a green military uniform, stood tall and called out urgently, his eyes scanning the crowd.
Everyone turned to look, momentarily stunned. The insignia on his shoulder marked him as someone of high rank, drawing even more attention.
When they got a clear look at the elderly man in the wheelchair, the shock deepened. Many recognized him instantly. It was Felix Farren, the former commander of the local military base.

Chapter 37
Was someone looking for the Miracle Doctor?
Sylvia, standing nearby, overheard the commotion. Her brows furrowed slightly before she shook her head with a faint smile. ‘Word sure travels fast, she thought.
Before Sylvia could react, Hugo had already recognized the Farren family and quickly stepped forward. “Mr. Farren, what happened to your father?” he
asked.
Hank Farren looked up at Hugo, unfamiliar with him but noticing the respect others showed him. With urgency in his voice, he asked, “Are you.. are you the Miracle Doctor everyone’s been talking about?”
Felix had been fighting a chronic illness for years, and no famous doctor had been able to help. They’d heard that only the Miracle Doctor could save him, so they rushed to the Pharmaceutical Conference from Arlington.
Hugo froze for a moment. He had certainly heard of the Miracle Doctor’s reputation, but he had always dismissed it as mere legend. After all, how could such a miraculous figure truly exist?
Joanna approached, having caught every word of the conversation. A glint of cunning flashed in her eyes as she smiled sweetly and said to Hugo, “Mr. Quill, I had no idea you were so talented! So, you’re the Miracle Doctor everyone’s been searching for?”
Hugo hesitated briefly before a sly smile crept onto his face. Lowering his voice, he replied, “Well, it’s just a title people use. No need to spread it around, okay?”
