Chapter 41
“He’s awakel He’s awake!” Zack nearly jumped out of his skin with excitement, his little face glowing with pride. Just moments ago, it seemed like 17 was slipping away, but thanks to Sylvia’s acupuncture, he was out of danger.
Hank rushed to Felix’s side, his heart pounding as he checked on Felix. Although Felix still couldn’t speak, his eyes were open, and his awareness had clearly returned.
Turning to Sylvia, Hank said with gratitude, “Ms. Sullivan, thank you! If it weren’t for you, my dad wouldn’t have made it through this!”
Sylvia smiled gently, “Saving lives is my responsibility. And since Mr. Felix Farren is Zander’s grandfather, of course, I am more than glad to help.
Sylvia had just revived Felix, but not everyone was happy about it. The one feeling most disgruntled was Hugo, Association.
the chairman of the Traditional Medicine
“Mr. Farren, let’s not pretend this is all Sylvia’s doing. The Heart Tonic I gave your dad earlier was the real reason he woke up!” Hugo declared, his tone dripping with self–importance.
Hugo’s ego couldn’t handle Sylvia taking all the credit. Though he was surprised she could perform the Eight Needles technique, he wasn’t about to let her steal the spotlight.
Before Hugo’s words had even settled, Joanna chimed in, “Actually, I think both Mr. Quill and Sylvia deserve credit. Mr. Quill’s medicine set the stage, and Sylvia’s acupuncture helped bring out its full effect.”
Her intentions were clear. She wanted to make Hugo’s contribution seem more significant than Sylvia’s.
Zack, standing nearby, couldn’t hold back any longer. His little face turned bright red as he blurted out, “Why are you siding with that bad guy, Joanna? It’s obvious Mom did all the work!”
Joanna let out a soft, awkward laugh, “Zack, I’m just stating the facts. Of course, Sylvia played a role in Mr. Felix Farren’s recovery, but let’s not forget the groundwork Mr. Quill laid.”
Sylvia’s gaze turned icy as she shot Joanna a cold glance. She hadn’t planned on arguing, but their shamelessness was too much to ignore. With a faint smirk, she said, “I think Mr. Felix Farren knows best how he woke up.”
All eyes turned to Felix, who was still lying on the table.
Joanna shook her head with a patronizing smile. “Sylvia, look at him. Do you really think he’s in any condition to speak right now?”
It was clear to everyone that while Felix had been revived, his full recovery would take time. Many even suspected he might suffer permanent damage, losing his ability to speak or being confined to bed for the rest of his life.
Sylvia didn’t bother responding. Instead, she walked over to Felix’s side. One by one, she plucked the silver needles from his skin.
Then, she retrieved a small pill from her medicine box. Gently lifting Felix’s chin, she slipped the pill into his mouth, ensuring it slid smoothly down his throat.
“Mr. Farren, is there something you’d like to say?” Sylvia asked softly, her gaze steady as she waited for his response.
Joanna stood off to the side, her lips curling in disdain. ‘Does she really think a single pill can work miracles? What nonsense!‘ she thought.
Just as she was about to voice her mockery, Felix’s tightly shut lips quivered faintly, as if summoning every ounce of strength. Then, wit effort, he parted them to speak, “Miss… thank you… You saved my life…”

Felix’s voice was weak and raspy, but his words rang clear in the ears of everyone present.
It was unmistakable. Sylvia had saved him, and Hugo had nothing to do with it.
Chapter 41
Hugo’s face drained of color, his confidence crumbling in an instant. Joanna, meanwhile, stood frozen, her eyes wide with distrattar en si mes të ghost. Felix had actually spoken.
Sylvia gently helped Felix sit up, her hands carefully patting his back to stimulate blood circulation.
As she continued, the effects began to take hold. A soothing warmth coursed through Felix’s body, loosening the stiffness in his limbs. He felt lighter almost as if a weight had been lifted.
“Mr. Farren, let me help you stand and take a few steps,” Sylvia said, her next words leaving everyone in the room stunned.
Even Hank couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Ms. Sullivan, are you sure about this? My dad has been bedridden for so long. How could he possibly walk now?” he asked incredulously.
Sylvia offered a calm smile. “That depends on Mr. Farren’s own determination. If he doesn’t want to stay in bed, then he can certainly walk.
Felix’s blood had been blocked before, keeping him bedridden. Now that it was flowing freely, his body felt light and alive again.
A faint smile appeared on Felix’s face as he raised his hand with effort and said to Sylvia, “Miss, help me up.”
Sylvia stepped forward, supporting Felix by the shoulders and carefully helping him to his feet.
Felix had been toughened by his time on the battlefield. His legs quaked as they touched the ground, shaky and uncertain. With Sylvia’s steady support, Felix took a wobbly step forward.
Hank was ecstatic and rushed forward to steady Felix. “Dad, you can walk!”
“All thanks to this young lady!” Felix’s voice grew stronger, and he suddenly whipped his head around to glare at Hugo, his eyes blazing with fury.
“You’re the chairman of the Traditional Medicine Association? With someone like you in charge, no wonder the whole association is a disgrace! It shouldn’t even exist!” snapped Felix.
Even while unconscious, Felix had been fully aware. It was that so–called medicine Hugo gave him that nearly cost him his life.
Hugo’s face turned ghostly pale. He knew all too well the power of the Farren family. If Felix decided to pursue this, not only would he lose his position as chairman, but the entire association could crumble under the fallout.
“Dad, don’t waste your energy on scum like him.” Hank helped Felix back into his wheelchair, his tone firm. “Leave this to me. I won’t let people like him get away with it.”
The words were clearly directed at Hugo.
Terrified, Hugo bolted out the door without a second thought, as if staying even a moment longer would bring disaster crashing down on him.
Joanna kept her mouth shut, terrified of getting dragged into trouble.
“Mr. Farren, you still need some care. Here’s the prescription I’ve prepared for you.” Sylvia handed over the prescription.
Felix nodded gratefully and then gave Hank a meaningful glance.
Hank quickly understood, pulling out a check and handing it to Sylvia with both hands, his face full of gratitude.
Sylvia turned it down with a smile. Felix was Zander’s grandfather, and she still owed Zander for helping her out by pretending to be Ruby’s dad.
After Hank and Felix left, Sylvia also stepped out of the lounge. Ruby had been waiting outside and ran up to her. “Mommy, what were you doing in there?
It took forever!”
“Nothing important, sweetie. Don’t ask so many questions,” said Sylvia.
Sylvia sighed to herself, ‘This little blabbermouth! Ruby spilled the beans about her being the Miracle Doctor to Zack.‘

As she spoke, Sylvia’s gaze shifted to Zack, who had been trailing behind her. Her expression darkened slightly. “Why are you following me! W’s the weekend. Have you finished your homework yet?”
“Not… not yet,” Zack mumbled, his face drooping. He’d spent the whole day goofing off with Ruby and hadn’t even looked at his homework.
He hung his head, embarrassed, but then a thought struck him. ‘Wait. Mom is actually worried about my studies?‘
