Chapter 80
Angel stayed by Joanna’s side as she waited for her audition.
She had just finished a call with Byron. Hanging up, she playfully nudged Joanna, who was sitting beside her. “Joanna, Byron’s on his way Give it your ol during the audition. He might be watching.”
“Really?” Joanna’s eyes widened with delight. Her cheeks flushed pink as she smiled shyly, “I’m pretty confident in my acting skills. All these years of hard work. I just hope that one day I’ll be worthy of Byron.”
“Joanna, what are you talking about? You’re absolutely perfect for Byron. After you have waited all these years, I’m sure you’ll get to marry him just like you’ve always wanted.” Noticing how self–deprecating Joanna was about her feelings, Angel quickly comforted her.
Joanna smiled and nodded. “Thanks, Angel. You’ll have to help me win Byron over, okay?”
One by one, the actors around her were called into the audition room.
After a short wait, a staff member finally called Joanna’s number for the audition.
Joanna took a deep breath and stood up with composed confidence. Angel accompanied her as they entered the audition room together.
“Hello, everyone, my name is Joanna-” Joanna stepped into the room, greeting the panel of interviewers with a bright, confident smile. But mid- sentence, her eyes abruptly widened in shock.
Beside her, Angel was equally stunned, her eyes locked on one person at the interviewer’s table. “Sylvia, what are you doing on the judging panel?”
Sylvia looked up with a blank expression, her gaze icy as it swept over the two. “Cut the familiarity. If you’re not here for the audition, leave now.”
Joanna’s face darkened instantly. ‘How dare Sylvia–who doesn’t know the first thing about acting–talk to an A–list young actress like me?‘ Joanna fumed inwardly.
Joanna couldn’t help but look to the other interviewer, Zander, hoping he’d say something fair.
Zander, with a serious expression and a slight nod, said, “Sylvia is one of our judges, and she holds veto power. If you’re not here to audition, you may
leave now.”
“She’s really one of the judges?” Joanna’s eyes widened in disbelief, her mind reeling. Then, a surge of fury overtook her.
‘How come she gets to be an interviewer? Is it just because she’s close to Zander?‘ she wondered.
Though Angel was just as upset, she kept her cool. She gently nudged Joanna and whispered, “Joanna, focus on your audition first. Don’t stoop to her level. Once we find Master Cameron, we’ll tell him everything.”
Joanna nodded inwardly. ‘Angel was right. I have to find a way to track down that elusive Master Cameron, no matter what. After all, he’s the investor behind this film project. I need to make sure he hears about how Sylvia treated me today.
‘Zander is clearly playing favorites. How could he let Sylvia, with such bad acting skills, be a judge?‘
Angel had come with Sylvia in the first place, hoping to meet the legendary Master Cameron.
Master Cameron was her idol, but after waiting for so long, she still hadn’t caught a glimpse of this legendary figure.
‘Since Master Cameron has come to Silverton from abroad, he’ll definitely reach out to me,‘ Angel thought confidently.
Little did they know that the legendary Master Cameron was none other than Sylvia, the very woman they’d always looked down up
Zander certainly knew that Sylvia was Master Cameron, but without her permission, he’d never breathe a word of it to anyone.

Chapter 80
Zander handed Joanna the script for a scene from the film. “Take a moment to study it, then perform this part,” he said.
Joanna stood at the center of the room, carefully studying the script in her hands.
Meanwhile, Angel took a seat aside, eagerly awaiting Joanna’s performance.
Truth be told, Sylvia had no intention of letting Joanna audition in the first place, but since Zander had already promised Byron, all she wanted was for Joanna to hurry up, get it over with, and get out of her sight.
After studying the script for a while, Joanna launched into what she believed to be a masterful performance. Since the female lead was a woman suffering from heartbreak, she immediately burst into tears of anguish.
“Cut. That’s enough.” Just as Joanna was fully immersed in her performance, Sylvia abruptly cut her off.
Joanna’s face darkened. “Why?” she snapped.
Sylvia said coldly, “Your performance is overly exaggerated. It’s unacceptable.”
Joanna’s chest heaved with anger. ‘How dare someone who knows nothing about acting criticize my performance?‘ she fumed inwardly.
Joanna snapped at Sylvia, “That’s so unfair. What exactly was wrong with my acting?”
Sylvia was clearly irritated by Joanna’s pitiful act and snapped, “I’m not your acting coach. If you want to know what’s wrong with your performance, go ask your drama teacher.”
Joanna flushed scarlet, choking on her indignation.
Angel, who had been sitting quietly, abruptly stood up to defend Joanna. “Sylvia, you’re just abusing your position for personal revenge. What exactly was wrong with Joanna’s performance?
“Let’s see you do better. If you can’t even act, how dare you judge her?”
Joanna felt a wave of satisfaction. “How about this, Sylvia? Why don’t you give us a demonstration, and I’ll act opposite you. That way, everyone can see exactly what was wrong with my performance earlier.”
Sylvia’s eyes narrowed menacingly, a dangerous glint flashing within them.
Zander, standing off to the side, frowned in displeasure, clearly wanting to speak up for Sylvia.
As the main investor, Sylvia had every right to remove any actor from the cast.
Before Zander could speak, Sylvia let out a cold chuckle and rose from her chair. “Fine. I’ll give you a demonstration.”
After all, she wrote the script herself. There was nothing to fear.
“Alright, Sylvia, I’ll play the supporting role in this scene.” Joanna gloated inwardly, ‘Perfect. Now, everyone will see how Sylvia pales in comparison to
me.‘
Joanna waited gleefully for Sylvia to embarrass herself.
Sylvia stepped forward to face Joanna, drawing a deep breath. In that instant, she became completely immersed in the character’s world, feeling all its sorrow and despair. Slowly, she closed her eyes, and tears began tracing down her cheeks.
Moments later, her eyes snapped open, sharp and piercing, fixing Joanna with a fierce stare, as if she had completely transformed into the heroine from the play. “Now. Are you satisfied?
“Haven’t you always wanted to take him back? Fine. I’m giving him back to you. Three years of marriage–bore his children, gave up my dreams, sacrificed everything for him. And now? I want none of it.”

“Everything. Here, have it. I’ll walk away with nothing. You win. You’ve completely won.”
Suddenly, the audition room fell into stunned silence. Everyone was completely awestruck by Sylvia’s devastating performance
Joanna recoiled in shock, her face pale as a sheet. She was completely thrown off, unable to respond, utterly crushed,
At that moment, a man stood outside the door, Byron, who had just arrived, fall and straight backed, he stood silently, his complicated gate foot on Sylvia.
For some reason, through her torrent of tears, he seemed to see all the hardships she’d endured in the Blair love and hate they once shared.

Then, his face darkened a few shades. ‘Isn’t this exactly what happened between them? I can’t believe she actually put it into the script, he wondered
