Chapter 65
We’re about to leave the gym when Harley comes running into the building.
“Violence?!”
A series of growls come from Tony and my Puppies. Hayes pushes be behind the group who stand around me now, swallowing my height within
theirs.
“Guys! He’s a friend, move!” I push my way through them and launch myself at Harley for a hug.
“Where the hell have you been? You just dropped off the face of the Earth!”
Tony clears his throat, and I remove myself from Harley.
“Oh, uh, Harley, this is Tony, one of my fiancés, Tony, Harley“. They shake hands but I can feel the tension rolling off them in waves.
“Fiancé, huh?”
“Yeah it’s a long story. It all is.”
“But we were just leaving.” Tony states.
“I just got here though, Coach told me you were back in the ring.”
Tony grabs my hand, and my puppies start to close in on me.
“I’ll be back, maybe tomorrow? We can catch up then.”
“Yeah, alright…It was really good to see you, Violence.”
I give a wave just as the guys sweep me out the door.
“I don’t like him“, Hayes says as he opens the door of the car for me.
“Me either.” Tony grumbles out as he pushes in after me.
“Well thankfully for you guys, you don’t have to be friends with the people like.”
Theres a series of grumbles around the car but I block them out. I want friends.
Luciano.
We’ve been questioning this guy for weeks now and he still won’t tell us shit. He’s barely holding on and I’ve had to pull back on our methods of getting information out of him just so he stays alive.
“Anything?” Luca asks as he saunters in for the day.
“Nothing. Not a word, not a trace from our tech team, not a single fucking clue.”
“Well shit. What are we going to do?”
“For now? We need to finish the last bits of organizing the funeral for tomorrow and the family’s lawyer needs Ariana’s signature on their wills.”
We finish up what we need to do just as Ariana and Tony arrive home.
“Angel, welcome home“, I give her a kiss and ask that she comes with me to my office.
“I could really use a shower first, Luciano”
“It’ll just take a couple minutes, love.”
Luca bounces up for a hug when she walks in and then pulls her onto his lap.
Chapter 65
“Princess, you stink…”
“Yes, well tell Mr boss man over here who won’t let me shower.”
“Mr Boss man needs your signature on these, please.” I push the documents over to her and she leans forward to look at them.
“What is this?”
“Your brothers will. Everything goes to you.”
“I don’t want it, any of it.”
“None the less, it’s yours. Sign it.”
She rolls her eyes and signs the pages marked. She hasn’t wanted to talk about her brothers since it happened. I can understand how fucked up this is for her, but I also know its eating at her. She’s asked every single day to see the guy locked up in our basement cells. I won’t have that though. She doesn’t have to dirty herself with that sort of stuff anymore. It’ll be my job to protect her now.
“Also, the funeral…”
“Nope, I told you, I don’t want anything to do with it.” She goes to stand but Luca pulls her back down.
“Princess, we know. We’ve organized everything for tomorrow morning and we think you need to go. If you miss it, you will regret it. We know how messed up your relationship with them was, but they did love you in their own way and they did want to show you how much they loved
you.”
