Under Marcus’s leadership, the Donovan Group gradually took over half of Chicago.
He began to expand his business overseas, with the first stop being Paris, France.
None of the jokes Marcus made to find Emma back then are mentioned again.
Not only that, but those people also began to praise Marcus’s affection for Emma, as if they had completely forgotten about Marcus cheating and getting another woman pregnant before his wedding.
With enough power in hand, the slanderous words would disappear.
Marcus personally experienced the benefits that power brought to him, but he did not feel happy because of them.

Marcus hadn’t paid much attention to Emma’s whereabouts for a long time, only occasionally hearing that her new boyfriend Rodney was from a well–known local family, which is how he got news about Emma again.
Marcus opened an American restaurant not far from where Emma lived, selling only one type of pasta.
Emma immediately recognized the familiar taste after trying it once.

Marcus also managed to catch a glimpse of Emma from afar in the kitchen that time.
Seeing Emma and Rodney so in love, his eyes lelt a little sour, but he couldn’t bear to look away because he knew that his chances of seeing Emma in person were few and far between.
After Emma visited the restaurant once, she rarely went back to eat there
again. After all, she no longer liked thee,

But the taste of this pasta unexpectedly matched the taste of other Americans, and the bustling shop was not lacking in customers.
For the Donovan Group, this restaurant was just a very small industry, but Marcus would visit and stay for a few days month.

The item that was sent out was returned intact by the steward, along with

Emma and Rodney were getting married.
Upon hearing this news, Marcus did not have much of a reaction, only the slightly red eyes betrayed his true emotions.
On the day of the wedding, Marcus stood far behind in the crowd, and after Rodney finished reciting his vows, he was the first to shed tears before Emma.
From now on, the girl who once loved him so much will never belong to him again.
Marcus saw Emma passing by the restaurant again after who knows how many years, noticing her slightly protruding belly and Rodney nervously protecting her.
After Emma gave birth to a child, Marcus adopted a girl in his home country who bore a resemblance to Emma in two ways.
He was discharged from the hospital without fully recovering his health and immediately threw himself into work. The damage left behind could not be reversed by any medicine.
But he continued to shuttle back and forth between Chicago and Paris, his health deteriorating day by day.
He had done so many wrong things, now having the chance to see Emma from afar, he already felt very satisfied.
