**Marcus’s Perspective**

In Marcus’s eyes, Aubrey had always been so quiet and reserved.
Her life was as mundane as her work, completely incomparable to Sienna’s.
But for some reason, whenever he returned to Bennet Manor drunk from frustration, seeing Aubrey chatting happily with Daniel would inexplicably calm his volatile mood.
So he began getting drunk on purpose, just to see Aubrey.
He’d tease her while intoxicated, watching her ears turn red–it amused him endlessly.
That drunken night was an accident; Marcus never intended to hurt Aubrey.
But when Daniel ordered him to marry Aubrey, he was unexpectedly relieved, even somewhat grateful and excited.
Their married life was mundane.
Aubrey threw herself completely into her career, which made Marcus jealous.
So he deliberately belittled her work and used Aaron as an

excuse, demanding she focus more energy on the family.

Deep down, Marcus knew these were just accusations he was forcing on Aubrey.
She was an exceptionally competent mother.
Aaron and he himself were more like spoiled children- disobedient and constantly taking advantage of her affection.
The day Sienna returned to the country, Marcus didn’t go to pick her up.
He happened to be on a business trip but unexpectedly appeared at the same airport as Sienna, and the media captured photos of them together.
Only later did he learn that Sienna had orchestrated it all.
Ever since Sienna’s return, Aubrey had been acting strange.
She often hid away to cry alone, or got angry when he had dinner with Sienna, her face turning terribly pale.
This made Marcus furious.
He felt Aubrey was losing sight of her identity and position.
But he was also somewhat pleased.

He thought it meant Aubrey actually liked him very much.

So he deliberately acted intimate with Sienna, cutting her steak and preparing elaborate meals for her, though most were just takeout orders.
He thought that as long as he could make Aubrey jealous, he’d treat her twice as well afterward.
However, he never expected Aubrey to ask for a divorce, even giving up Aaron.
When he saw that divorce agreement, he completely lost control and flew into a rage.
In a moment of impulse, he actually agreed to Sienna’s
ridiculous demands.
Only he knew that deep inside, he was beginning to panic.
This unease intensified as Aubrey ignored him all night.
When he received the phone call informing him that Aubrey’s flight had crashed, he nearly collapsed.
Fortunately, it was just a misunderstanding.
While a flight had indeed crashed, Aubrey’s name wasn’t on the casualty list.

But from then on, he could never reach Aubrey again.
Even Russell refused to reveal her whereabouts.
Aaron gradually realized the truth about his mother’s disappearance and began crying for “Mommy” every night.
Watching Aaron’s tear–streaked face, Marcus suddenly felt disgusted with him.
It was all Aaron’s fault, and his own fault too.
Finally, after three years of desperate searching, he spotted Aubrey in a news interview about cultural artifacts.
He couldn’t wait to book a flight and brought the equally anxious Aaron to find her.
However, three years had changed too much.

Aubrey had adopted another child and no longer wanted Aaron, nor him.
No matter how hard Marcus tried, Aubrey remained cold and
distant toward him.
It wasn’t until Jayla’s words that Marcus finally understood.
He realized this was all his own doing.

He deserved to lose the person he loved most.
From now on, he would lose her forever.
The End.
