A month later, my house was done.
I moved in with Grandpa, and invited his
friends to drink tea.
Laughter filled the yard.
A year later, Lucas’s company was half as big
as before.

experience than Sunny.
She was too green.
In three months, Sunny was failing.
She tried to sell the company.

Then he took out all the gifts and brought
them inside.
I thought they were a thank you for helping
him.
“I knew he was a good kid, grateful.”
After the gifts were inside, he said it was a

I was shocked.
“What?”
“What dowry?”
Lucas smiled, and said:
“You gave me money to start my business. I
wouldn’t be here without you.”

I didn’t think he was this crazy.
I just wanted a money–making machine.
I knew money wouldn’t last.
I gave it to Lucas to get dividends.
I knew he was good at business.
I didn’t want him to date. He’d forget about
the company.
I explained it to him. He didn’t give up. He
came every day and brought gifts.
I sent him away, but then I thought, he can.
keep Grandpa company, and I can go out with

I saw him playing with Grandpa and drove
