Alexander’s fate was even worse than hers.
After that day, he and Chloe turned on each other like rabid dogs, a public spectacle that ended with
them in cuffs.
When he got out, the world had changed.
All projects were canceled, all partners withdrew investments, bank accounts were frozen, and company books revealed millions in illicit transactions.
The tax bureau, in conjunction with the industry and commerce bureau, launched an investigation. Within days, “Alexander & Scarlett Events” was forcibly liquidated by the court, the company went bankrupt, and its legal representative was barred from high–end purchases and travel.
His parents, upon receiving the bank’s freeze notification, immediately called an emergency family meeting. To avoid being implicated and blacklisted by Caldwell Enterprises, they heartlessly swept him out of the house.
“You’ve not only shamed our family name but utterly severed your ties with us.”

“Keeping you will only destroy our entire family.”
“Our family no longer recognizes you as a son.”
Alexander was left without an address, without a home, without a company, without everything.
The last time I saw him was at the courthouse.
He wore a wrinkled white shirt, stained with coffee. His eyes were unfocused, his face unshaven, lips dry, as he softly spoke before the judge:
“I… I just want to start over…”
I stood at the plaintiff’s table, not giving him a single glance. I spoke to the judge with firm clarity:
“Whether his life can start over is not for me to decide, nor do I care.
“But whether he needs to be held accountable for his actions, and how, I demand an answer.”
Ultimately, Alexander was ordered to pay full compensation and barred from establishing any new companies for three years.
As he walked out of the courtroom, it was pouring rain.
No one waited for him. No passersby recognized him.
Meanwhile, I stood under an umbrella, surrounded by my team, walking past him in my heels,
getting into my car.
I didn’t spare him another look.
