Gavin ate his breakfast leisurely, not even bothering to look up.
He said, “Sit down and eat.”
I took a deep breath and looked up at him. “Mr. Harris, first, I never agreed to tutor Ryan all day. Second, I have a seminar at school at ten, and I need to leave now.”
Only then did Gavin look up at me. “Don’t you want to graduate?”
I stopped in my tracks.
Gavin rummaged through a chair beside him and casually pulled out a contract, placing it on the table. “Sign this.”
I glanced at him, walked over, and opened it to find an internship contract from a famous multinational corporation.
You have to understand, every Christmas, countless graduates compete for internships at this company. To secure one of these rare spots, everyone fights tooth and nail, going through multiple rounds of screening just to get in.
I looked at Gavin suspiciously. “How do you have a contract from this company…”
Before I could finish my question, a business card flew over to

Looking at Gavin’s name on the card and the multinational corporation’s name below it, I was stunned.”
He was an executive director of this company!
I looked up in shock.
No wonder the Harris family could afford to live on the hillside like this. Given this company’s status, it wouldn’t be surprising if they lived on a cliff’s edge.
But what did he mean by suddenly giving me this? Threatening me first, then offering a reward? How ridiculous.
I gripped the business card tightly and asked, “Why are you giving me this?”
Gavin lowered his eyes and wiped his mouth. “Sign it or don’t, it’s up to you. Get ready in a bit. The driver will bring Ryan back soon, and this time I expect his grades to improve quickly.”
ared at him. “Mr. Harris, this is unlawful detention.”
Gavin remained unfazed. “The door’s right there. You can leave anytime. But the video and investigation notice will reach your school faster than you will.”
I was speechless.

Gavin said calmly, “Now, can you sit down and cat?”

I took a deep breath. “The seminar is very important to me. It directly affects whether I can graduate successfully. If graduation itself becomes a problem, do you think I’d still be afraid of you?”
Gavin’s hand paused as he reached for his water glass, then he looked up at me. “Don’t make me repeat myself.”
I breathed a sigh of relief and immediately sat back down, quickly taking a sip of milk.
Then I said, “I’m full.”
Gavin sighed and got up, walking over to me.
He lifted his hand to cup my face, turning it left and right, then grabbed a napkin from the table.
His movements were gentle, but I instinctively wanted to pull
away.
My chin stung as my face was forcibly straightened, and Gavin continued to gently wipe the milk from the corner of my mouth.
He said, “Don’t be in such a rush next time you drink.”
I glared at him but said nothing.

The napkin brushed softly against my face.

After a moment, he looked coldly into my eyes. “Want to keep your eyesight?”
I turned my head away, no longer looking at him.
Seeing him about to leave, I quickly ran over to put on my shoes.
Gavin tossed the napkin aside and walked toward the entryway to change his shoes.
Just as I was about to bend down for my shoes, he pressed me down onto the bench in the entryway.
I looked confused, not knowing what he was planning now.
I watched as Gavin slowly crouched down and pulled out a pair of new socks from a nearby drawer.
I looked at the drawer and discovered it actually contained quite a few women’s socks.
w many female tutors had Gavin hired for Ryan? Could ally handle them all?
Gavin crouched in front of me, skillfully grasping my ankle and placing it on his knee.

Then he unwrapped the sock package, apparently intending to put them on me himself.
I couldn’t stand this scene and pressed down on his hand. “I’ll do it myself.”
Gavin stared at the hand resting on his arm and said, “Let go.”
I glared at him. “Are you sick?”
Gavin glanced at me and instead stuffed the socks back into the bag. “Seems like you’re not in that much of a hurry.”
It was almost nine o’clock. If I didn’t leave soon, I’d miss the subway.
I took a deep breath, furious but resigned.
His rough fingertips brushed across the bottom of my foot, making me flinch involuntarily, but he pulled me back firmly.
Gavin quickly put on the shoes he’d already prepared for me,
finally started putting on his own shoes.
The process felt like it lasted a century.
Only when the front door opened did I finally feel time flowing again.
Just as I was about to grab my bag and run down the hill, Gavin caught me by the collar. “I’ll drive you.”
