Chapter 109
Two days later, Yvonne read on the Jeriton City news that the auction had successfully wrapped up.
There were no other pieces of Andrew’s posthumous works at that auction, so she’d stopped paying attention to it.
Since she knew that Samuel was recuperating from his injuries, slie didn’t pressure him about the emeralds.

Over the past few days, she’d been completely immersed in reading up on the intangible cultural heritage arts and organizing the information that was going to be used for the event’s promotion.
During that period of time, she also managed to see even more intangible cultural heritage works thanks to Jean.
Jean was overjoyed to see her current proposal. “You’ve already organized this much data, Yvonne?”
It was Yvonne’s first time being responsible for such a large–scale event, so she had to communicate with Jean frequently.
“It’s because you already had comprehensive data on hand,” she replied modestly.
“All I did was organize and extract the relevant information. Out of the six themed sections planned, the promotional booth and interactive station are the most difficult to work out.
“I invited the Jeriton City Cowboy Lovers‘ Association to collaborate with us, and I’ve already contacted the college to arrange for a study tour.”
She blinked, then asked tentatively with a wry smile on her face, “The Department of Arts and Culture doesn’t intend on making me handle all this alone, right, Professor Weedle?
“I’m only responsible for planning the themes right now. If we really want to set up the scenes, it’ll require a team effort… I seem to be working alone with how the tasks have been divided right now. Can I ask for a raise?”
Jean knew Yvonne was joking and immediately laughed aloud.
“Those people from the Department of Arts and Culture are all old–fashioned prudes. They’re nowhere near as smart and capable as you, Yvonne. That’s why I want you to hold the power to express your opinion.”
Although she was over 50 years old, Jean still had a young mentality and spoke in a humorous manner.
“I’ll be visiting the Intangible Cultural Heritage Village to see their finished products tomorrow while you attend a meeting with the Department of Arts and Culture on my behalf.
“According to Eric, there’s a financial group in Jeriton City that’s interested in investing in the event. Please discuss your ideas and requests with them directly.”
Eric Daley was the director of the Department of Arts and Culture.
“Alright. I’ll meet with them tomorrow,” Yvonne said agreeably.
She was already mentally prepared to spend the entire day in meetings.
The next day, Yvonne drove to the Department of Arts and culture with her materials in hand.
When she met Angela Dawson, one of the department’s assistants, in the elevator, she couldn’t help but ask quietly, “How many people are attending the meeting today?”
“Everyone will be attending,” replied Angela. “Did you come alone Ms. Jamison?”
Yvonne was dazed for a moment.
She had to face everyone working for the Department of Arts and Culture alone?

She’d probably be stuck in the meeting for three days at this rate.
After they arrived in front of the conference room, Angela knocked on the door before opening it.
Voices deep in conversation drifted out from inside.
“The Intangible Cultural Heritage Promotional Event is the most important event in Jeriton City this year. If we can get Hover Group to invest in it, it’ll definitely be good for Jeriton City’s tourism economy in the second half of the year…”
“Ms. Jamison is here, Mr. Daley,” announced Angela.
Her announcement immediately made everyone look toward Yvonne, who was walking in with a bunch of documents in her
arms.
She looked over and unexpectedly saw Samuel sitting at the conference table.
“Why are you here, Mr. Hover?”
Samuel looked up. When he saw the pile of documents in her arms he immediately stood up to help her with them.
His smile was openly smug. “So, you’re the one responsible for holding the meeting today, Ms. Jamison? I’m also surprised.”
Eric figured out what was going on, but he didn’t comment on it. Instead, he stood up to say, “It turns out that you two know each other, Mr. Hover and Ms. Jamison. That means today’s meeting should go even more smoothly.
“Please take a seat, Ms. Jamison. I informed you to attend the meeting today because Hover Group is very interested in our department’s promotional event.”
The important thing was that Samuel wasn’t just interested in the promotional event but also the person in charge of it.
When Eric first heard that Samuel was personally attending the meeting, he’d planned to invite Jean over to keep up appearances.
However, Samuel had unexpectedly hinted that he wished to discuss things with Jean’s apprentice first–and quite explicitly at that too.
Eric had been puzzled, but he smiled knowingly now that he saw how Samuel treated Yvonne.
It seemed these two talented, beautiful young people had something in common.
