Yvonne had blocked Shirley’s numberl
Meanwhile, Yvonne was completely unaware of the drama going down in Fard Corporation.
She’d just received a call from Jean, who asked her to go pick up some documents related to the Intangible Cultural Heritage
Promotional Event
While there, she told Jean about using the emerald sculpture she was making for Samuel as her plecs for the competition. though she still felt uncertain about it
Jean took both of her hands in hers. “Yone, your father was the best sculptor in Jeriton City With your skills, there’s really nothing more I can teach you. All you need to do is learn from the memory of your father and keep your family’s legacy alive.”
“Thank you, Professor Weedle. I understand.”
All of a sudden, Yvonne had an urge to see Andrew’s works again.
Back then, everything in her family had owned had ended up with Dylan, who had, in turn, sold them off. For the first time ever, Yvonne contacted Dylan.
Yvonne arrived at a cafe and went up to the second floor. As soon as she opened the door to the private room, the smell of cigar smoke almost made her choke.
Looking around, she saw Dylan sitting at the head of the table, smicking a cigar.
“Ah, Yvonne. It’s been a long time,” he greeted.
Dylan was middle–aged. His hair was gray
ay at the temples, and he sported a hearty beer belly.
Yvonne was momentarily dazed. Being Andrew’s biological brother, Dylan looked a lot like him. For a moment, Yvonne almost felt like Andrew was sitting in front of her again. Tears stung at the back of her eyes.
However, there was still a clear difference between the two–Dylan had a sharp, calculating look in his eyes, completely unlike the gentle and kind look Andrew used to give her.
“Uncle Dylan.” Yvonne returned the greeting politely as she walked into the room
Apart from Dylan, there were several others present, all prominent figures in the jewelry design industry. One by one, their unfriendly gazes fell on her.
Keeping her composure, Yvonne got straight to the point. “Uncle Dylan, I know you sold all of my father’s work after he died. I’m not here to ask for the original sketches. I just want a list of all of his works.”
Andrew’s designs were famously difficult to replicate. Even if someone had the original design sketches, they wouldn’t be able to copy them.
Only she could. She’d been Andrew’s only student and the only person who could imitate his style.
“Yvonne, you haven’t given up on buying back all your father’s works? Do you even have that kind of money?” Dylan’s expression was far from kind. “I’m not trying to make things hard for you, but what can you even do with a list?
“Those sculptures might have been resold multiple times in the past four years -even I don’t know where they are now. Besides, who even remembers Andrew nowadays? No one collects rose worthless old pieces.”
Everyone in the room clearly knew what had happened to the Jamison family in the past. Their laughter was filled with
Yvonne took a deep breath and clenched her fists. “Whether I have the money or not is my business. Please just give me the list, Uncle Dylan.”

Then, he rapped his knuckles on the table and said patronizingly, Even though your father’s no longer with us, I believe you haven’t forgotten your manners, have you? Show some respect–bring me some coffee.”
Yvonne took a look at the list, then scoffed
Without a word, she went out and brought in a scalding cup of coffee, full to the brim and almost impossible to drink without burning oneself.
Dylan’s face darkened immediately. “What the hell is this? Is this how you treat your family? You are your father’s daughter indeed!
“For all his talent and brilliance, he was a criminal and dragged the entire Jamison family down with him. He always said you had a gift for jewelry design, but look at you now–you just spent your last few years being some man’s secretary!”
Dylan spoke harshly, determined to put Yvonne in her place. “How typical of women–all you do is rely on men. I heard that you left your job recently. What, did you scam enough money off Jared Ford?”
Everyone stared at Yvonne in curiosity.
“She used to be Jared Ford’s secretary?”
