Yvonne’s fingers were weak, and typing was too much of a hassle, so she recorded a voice message instead.

“I know you probably don’t have much of an appetite, so I had my maid make some chicken soup. You should have some before taking your medicine.”
Samuel ladled out a small bowl of the soup. He carefully tested the bowl’s warmth with his finger before bringing it over.
Yvonne was surprised. If it had just been some takeout he’d grabbed on the way, it would’ve been easier to explain. But this was chicken soup made by the Hover family’s maid.
