Isabel was trying to uncover Samuel’s lies.
It turned out that even men could be incredibly scheming in relationships.
“Aren’t you being too paranoid?” asked Yvonne, still attempting to defend Samuel. “Mr. Hover kept asking me to go home and rest just now, and I was the one who insisted on remaining behind.”
Isabel sighed. “I didn’t think this was your type, babe.”
Even soft–hearted women couldn’t resist falling for the elaborate schemes of cunning foxes like Samuel.
“I don’t even know what you’re saying. Are you perhaps hungry? Let’s go get something to eat, then,” said Yvonne.
Then, she smiled at Isabel and added, “My car was parked near Hillcrest Self–Serve Gas Station, so please help me check on the insurance. I don’t have my phone right now, so I’ll leave the documentation for you to handle.
“I’ll give you a call later, so you don’t have to worry about me.”
“Stay safe, Yvvy,” Isabel said seriously. All she could do was wish Yvonne well.
Afterward, Yvonne slowly made her way back to the ward.
Samuel, who’d overheard their conversation outside, did his best to suppress the smile on his face and maintain an innocent
expression.
“You really don’t have to stay behind to take care of me, Ms. Jamison.”
“The matter is settled, so please stop talking about it and get a good rest, Mr. Hover. Just call out to me if you need anything,”
Yvonne said in a rare show of assertiveness.
Samuel narrowed his eyes slightly and made a suggestion. “It’s a little early to go to bed now, and I’m quite bored. So, would you like to watch a movie with me, Ms. Jamison?”
“Alright. I’ll see if there are any good movies showing,” Yvonne replied agreeably.
She sat on the couch, which wasn’t too far from the hospital bed.
She and Samuel were alone in this isolated space. Her face was reflected in Samuel’s eyes, and his heart continued to surge with heated emotion.
After Isabel helped Yvonne claim insurance for her car, she returned to Clearwater Bay.
Just as she reached the entrance, she saw a figure rush toward her from the side and immediately became alert.
“How dare you ambush me, you bastard?” she yelled.
Jared had been looking for Yvonne the entire day, but Jeriton City was too big for him to pinpoint her location.
In the end, all he could do was return to Clearwater Bay and stare at the darkened villa.
“Where’s Yvvy?” he demanded with a hysterical look in his eyes. You definitely know where she is, so tell me!”
At that moment, Isabel’s expression was filled with mockery. Although she didn’t like Samuel, it couldn’t compare to her hatred for Jared.
“What does Yvvy’s whereabouts have to do with you? How else are you planning to hurt her? Haven’t you hurt her enough? Scumbag!” she yelled angrily.
Jared’s eyes flickered at her mention of the previous incident.
“This is between me and Yvvy. I didn’t mean it, and I’ll apologize to her for it,” he replied. “Has she come back? Where is she? You’re deliberately hiding her away so I can’t find her, aren’t you?
Jared was still holding Yvonne’s phone and car keys, which Isabel promptly snatched out of his hands.
“If you dare take away her phone and trap her again, I’ll definitely call the police on you and take you to court! I’ll have you know that Yvvy wouldn’t want to see you, and you have no right to see her either!” she snapped angrily.
“Our relationship has nothing to do with you!” he bellowed, glaring at her with just as much anger.
“Don’t think that you can sow discord between us just because you’re Yvvy’s friend, Isabel! You don’t have the slightest idea how much she loves me!
“You deliberately came up with this terrible plan to harm her! You’re the divorced, abandoned wife of a wealthy man yourself, so you want everyone to end up alone like you, don’t you? Unfortunately for you, I’m aware that you don’t have any good intentions!”
Isabel had originally planned to argue right back, but she realized that her words had no effect on him.
Did this scumbag still think that Yvonne loved him? Isabel suddenly didn’t feel like arguing anymore. On the contrary, she started laughing.
“What are you laughing at?” snapped Jared. “Tell me where Yvvy is.”
“You’ll never guess where she is,” Isabel replied casually before walking off.
Jared, on the other hand, was rooted to the spot. He couldn’t help wondering where exactly Yvonne was.
Had someone hidden her away?
